Assumption Day (also known as Fête de l'Assomption) is a public holiday in Mauritius, where we celebrate the Virgin Mary's ascension into heaven.
What does it mean for us? Church in the morning, food in the afternoon, maybe a beach getaway, and somewhere along the way, sugar in the form of Gateau Marie.
Whether you're celebrating Assumption or just want to bite into our traditional pâte d'amande cake, this is a great occasion to place your order 🍰 We will be making a limited number of cakes this year and will close preorders as soon as we're booked out 😊
(Serves 6 - 8, for pickup on the 15th, 16th or 17th of August only)
